RWS TANF and WIOA team members in Lincoln, NE, are finding new ways to work smart and do good while providing services to job seekers during the COVID-19 pandemic. They recently participated in a Drive-Through Career Fair that was held in a local mall parking lot and coordinated by the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development.
Over 500 bags were distributed to job seekers during the event. Each bag contained one-page documents from employers who were hiring, information about the companies, available jobs, and how to apply for the job openings. The bag also included job training opportunities from Southeast Community College and information on free WiFi access locations in the community.
Many local news outlets covered the event. TANF Business Services Representative Mark Wentz was interviewed by KMTV 3 News Now.
The event was a huge success, and we hope more of operations will be organizing events like this in the future.
